English Castles
Bodiam - East
Sussex
The romantic and beautifully
preserved Bodiam Castle is surrounded by a wide moat and was
originally built in the 14th century. This medieval castle
survived many attacks, but was eventually damaged by English
soldiers during the 1600s.
Medieval mercenaries lived
in special quarters built in Bodiam Castle. Visitors can climb
to the top of the castle towers for impressive views of the
countryside and the castle's moat.
