Edinburgh Castle - Midlothian Scotland's strongest and most important
castle sits on a massive, rocky foundation, and this location
is entwined the country's rich history. This Royal Castle
has been home to Scotland's Kings and Queens, and every occupant
has made modifications or added to the original structure.
Today, Edinburgh Castle serves many functions.
It is part palace, fortress, chapel, barracks, and war memorial.
Scottish kings are inaugurated on the historic Stone of Destiny,
and Edinburgh Castle is also home to the Scottish crown jewels.
The Crown Room displays the ancient Honours of Scotland -
the Sceptre, the Crown, and the Sword of State. An interesting collection of medieval armor
and weapons can be seen in the Great Hall. At precisely 1

can be seen from Edinburgh Castle, and much can be learned
